To get to this gig and take my friends, I had to drive from Coventry, to Manchester, then to Carlisle to pick up friends. Then onto Newcastle for the gig, which was electric. I remember Ian berating somebody for disrespectful behaviour during Suggestion, and after that the gig took on the type of intensity that you only ever got at a Fugazi show. Totally life changing stuff, though I'd already bought the ticket many years briefly. Hopefully it changed a few people that night that hadn't experienced Fugazi live before. Anyway, after the gig I had to frop of my freind Jane Coates in Newcastle, then Jason Williams in Manchester, and finally Simaon Hartop in my home town of Coventry, a round trip of about 500 miles, which we reached at 6am after driving through fog so bad we drove past our junction on the M62. And it was still one of the best nights of my life.
