The Mercury Program - A Data Learn the Language
A reissue of The Mercury Program’s much-loved double LP, A Data Learn the Language. First released in 2002, the record went quickly out of print on vinyl and has remained extremely hard to find. Now reissued by Lovitt Records, this version has been recut by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service and pressed on 180 gram black vinyl with a gatefold sleeve. Warm, melodic, minimalist instrumental music with a dialed-in rhythm section.

Dead Meadow - The Nothing They Need
The seventh full-length studio album by Los Angeles-based/D.C.-bred psych-rock trio, Dead Meadow. Released on the eve of the band's 20th anniversary, the record includes performances by a number of Dead Meadow alumni, including guitarist Cory Shane and drummers Mark Laughlin and Stephen McCarty. Recommended.

This summer will mark the 50th year of Washington, D.C.'s Fort Reno Concert Series. The organizers are currently conducting a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for an extended the season and also, hopefully, to fund the series into the future. If so inclined, you can view the project here. The Fort Reno Summer Concert Series is an all-volunteer Washington, D.C. institution that has presented free shows in the park for the last 50 years. The bills often feature a mixture of young bands just starting out alongside more seasoned bands -- all from the area's independent music scene. The concerts typically take place during July, with shows on Monday and Thursday evenings.

This spring, Dischord and Hellfire Records will co-release Little Acts of Destruction, the second full-length by Red Hare. Red Hare are Shawn Brown, Jason Farrell, and Dave Eight -- all former members of Swiz -- and Joe Gorelick. The record includes 14 songs and was recorded and mixed by J. Robbins. It's available for pre-order now on CD, LP, and digital download via this site and also through our Bandcamppage. The band will perform a short run of tour dates on the East coast starting May 30th in Washington, D.C.

On March 23, Dischord will release the self-titled debut LP by the Messthetics. Formed in 2016, the Messthetics are Brendan Canty, Joe Lally, and Anthony Pirog. Brendan and Joe were the rhythm section of the band Fugazi from its inception in 1987 to its period of hiatus in 2002. Anthony is a jazz and experimental guitarist based in Washington, D.C.
The trio’s debut includes nine songs recorded at Canty’s practice space throughout 2017, live and mostly without overdubs. The record is up for pre-order now via the Dischord website and also through our Bandcamp page. The band will also be performing shows throughout the spring.

Smart Went Crazy - Con Art 20th Anniversary Edition
This is a limited edition 2xLP reissue of Smart Went Crazy's second and final album, Con Art, which was first released in 1997 by Dischord. The original vinyl version of the record was a single LP and, due to space constraints, omitted a number of songs that were included on the CD. This reissue has been remastered from the original source tapes, pressed to clear vinyl, and also restores the complete track listing (with a few extras thrown in).
