Clark Sabine, our friend and fellow musician, died Tuesday evening after a short but intense last battle with cancer. He was 33 years old. Clark played in
Statehood,
Andalusians, and Motorcycle Wars, where his hilarious and ridiculous stage entrances are still legend around these parts. He was a character with manic creative energy who held a deep affection for all of us who shared his passion for music in the Washington, DC underground.
He will be missed.
Our hearts go out to his family, bandmates, and friends. They formed an incredible support network in the last few weeks of his life, surrounding him with love and comfort, as well as laughter... that joy that Clark shared with so many of us.
A "Celebration of Life" ceremony will be held for Clark on Sunday June 21st at 11:30am at the
Fairfax Country Club.
Visit the
Statehood website for more information on Clark and his music.
